Some parts of Kitsap Co Buy Box still move fast despite higher rates
Realtor.com reported that mortgage rates climbed above 7% for the first time since January 2025. That matters because it raises the monthly cost for every buyer in Kitsap County. Yet the numbers for the three months ending August 31, 2026 show that some parts of this market barely flinched.
The Real Estate Data Aggregator counted just 1.3 months of supply in ZIP 98337, the Bremerton area. That is the tightest reading in this market. Supply there fell a full month from the same period in 2025. Buyers shopping in that ZIP are still competing for very few homes.
The Real Estate Data Aggregator found that 58.5% of homes in 98337 went under contract within two weeks of listing. That share rose 8.5 points from a year before. Clean, well-priced offers still matter here.
Prices in 98337 rose 10.8% from the same period in 2025, according to the Real Estate Data Aggregator. The median sale price reached $421,322. That gain came even as rates pushed higher.

What the rate picture means here
Realtor.com reported that rates crossed 7% for the first time since January 2025. Nationally, Realtor.com also found that 20.8% of listings took a price cut in September, the highest share since October 2022. That is the wider backdrop for this market.
CNBC reported that a monthly payment on a median-priced home took 33% of a median family's income in 2025. That was 26% in 2022. Higher rates made a real difference in what buyers can carry.
Even so, the tightest parts of Kitsap County held firm. The Federal Housing Finance Agency reported U.S. house prices rose 2.6% from July 2025 to July 2026. Several ZIP codes here beat that pace.
